FIB Unhas — Friday afternoon (Jan 2, 2026) marked a significant moment at the Senate Meeting Room of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Hasanuddin University. Early in this new year, the faculty leadership gathered the education staff for a crucial agenda: discussing the announcement of the selection results for Non-Civil Servant Permanent Employees (Pegawai Tetap Non-PNS or NPT) and Non-Civil Servant Temporary Employees (Pegawai Tidak Tetap Non-PNS or NPTT), while simultaneously providing strategic direction for the future of human resources within the faculty.
The atmosphere of the meeting felt relaxed yet serious. The Vice Dean for Planning, Resources, and Alumni (WD2), Dr. Rosmawati, S.S., M.Si., opened the meeting with good news accompanied by important notes. For the staff declared to have passed the selection, this status is not the finish line, but rather the starting gate of a three-month probationary period before being officially established.
“The number of candidates passing this selection is thanks to the struggle of the Dean of FIB Unhas. If we had strictly followed the pure test score calculations, perhaps only a few would have passed,” revealed WD2, emphasizing how hard the faculty leadership fought for the fate of their employees.
The Dean of FIB Unhas, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, S.S., M.Hum., provided a broader context in his directive. He emphasized that Human Resources—both lecturers and education staff—are the institution’s largest investment. Therefore, the change in status from NPTT to “Unhas Permanent Employee” is not merely a change of label, but a demand for professionalism. The Dean warned that discipline, especially regarding punctuality and office arrival time, is now a non-negotiable assessment parameter.
“In providing service, if you encounter difficult users, handle them with patience. We are one team, one family,” the Dean advised, reminding everyone of the importance of service ethics cascading from staff to leadership.
However, this meeting did not belong solely to those celebrating their success. To the staff who have not yet succeeded in passing the NPTT or NPT selection this time, the faculty leadership conveyed a message to remain patient and not be discouraged. The faculty is committed to ensuring that this status upgrade process is carried out in stages. Furthermore, for those who have not yet passed, efforts will be made to provide special training to enhance their capacity before they face exams in the upcoming period.
The meeting, which lasted until around 17:00 WITA, concluded with collective hope. Whether currently undergoing probation or still waiting for the next opportunity, everyone was asked to improve their performance for the advancement of FIB Unhas.
