FIB Unhas — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) at Hasanuddin University continues to strengthen its curriculum’s relevance to the professional world through strategic collaborations. On Friday morning, January 9, 2026, a significant milestone was reached with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between FIB Unhas and Seastars Education. The event, held in the Senate Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of FIB Unhas, marks a new chapter in enhancing student competencies, particularly for the Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture study program.
This partnership is more than just a formal signing ceremony. Its core objective is to provide a representative internship platform where students can apply their linguistic and cultural knowledge in a professional environment. The Dean of FIB Unhas, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, S.S., M.Hum., accompanied by the Head of the Mandarin Department, Dian Sari Unga Waru, S.S., M.TCSOL, warmly welcomed this initiative as a step toward optimizing human resource synergy.
From Seastars Education, Ornella Widyanto, as the director, reaffirmed her commitment to fully supporting these internship activities by providing appropriate facilities. Beyond academic aspects, the agreement also addresses student welfare, including the provision of a daily allowance for interns throughout the program.
“We want our students to not only be theoretically sound but also possess the mental resilience and professionalism required in the industry,” noted a faculty representative during the discussion. With this agreement, which is valid for six months and open for renewal, FIB Unhas hopes its graduates will gain a competitive edge. The partnership with Seastars Education serves as tangible proof that educational institutions and industry leaders can work hand-in-hand to prepare a generation ready for global challenges.
