FIB Unhas — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, welcomed a visit from the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD) on Thursday (30/4/2026) at the Senate Meeting Room of FIB Unhas. The meeting focused on evaluating the academic progress of scholarship recipients while also discussing the role of young generations in preserving Indonesian literature and culture.
The event was led by the Dean of FIB Unhas and attended by YAD representatives, department leaders, scholarship coordinators, and scholarship recipients from various study programs. In his remarks, the Dean expressed appreciation for YAD’s continued support, which has significantly contributed to expanding educational access and academic development opportunities for students at FIB Unhas.
Representatives of YAD emphasized that the scholarship program is not merely financial assistance, but also a social and cultural investment. “We hope scholarship recipients will not only complete their studies, but also contribute to the future of Indonesian literature and culture,” said the YAD Treasurer during the evaluation session.
The discussion became more engaging when scholarship recipients shared their family backgrounds and the meaningful impact the scholarship had on their academic journey. Several department representatives also presented reports on the students’ academic achievements.
The Head of the Master’s Program in Archaeology noted that scholarship recipients had shown excellent academic performance and actively assisted fellow students during learning activities. Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Literature Department reported that one scholarship recipient is currently undertaking an internship at Herald.id and has received positive feedback for strong language skills and work ethic.
The meeting also addressed administrative challenges related to scholarship fund disbursement. Both FIB Unhas and YAD agreed that stronger coordination and communication are necessary to ensure smoother financial processes for students.
Closing the event, the Dean of FIB Unhas expressed hope that the scholarship quota for FIB students could be increased in the future, emphasizing the importance of supporting students in the humanities and cultural fields for the sustainability of knowledge and national cultural identity.
