Guarding the 2026 Targets: Dean of FIB Unhas Signs IKU Contract with the Rector, Focusing on Educational Efficiency

FIB Unhas — The atmosphere in the Senate Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building was more solemn than usual on Monday (Jan 26, 2026). Top leadership from various faculties gathered, including the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Unhas, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, S.S., M.Hum. On that day, the academic community pledged their annual commitment through the Signing of the 2026 Performance Contract, directly led by the Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc.

Prof. Akhmar’s presence marked FIB Unhas’s full readiness to execute the targeted Key Performance Indicators (IKU). This strategic event was also overseen by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Development, and Finance, Prof. Subehan, S.Si., M.Pharm.Sc., Ph.D., Apt., and the University Secretary, Prof. Ir. Sumbangan Baja, M.Phil., Ph.D.

Prof. Subehan emphasized that the agreed indicators are derivatives of ministry policies and the university’s Strategic Plan (Renstra). These targets are adjusted to the reality and potential of each work unit, including the ratio of lecturers and students at FIB Unhas.

The challenges ahead are apparently not merely about chasing numbers on paper. Unhas Rector, familiarly known as Prof. JJ, placed special emphasis on educational efficiency, a vital aspect that directly touches the pulse of the faculty.

“Deans need to personally pay attention to and identify students who have the potential to experience study delays, as this can affect the achievement of educational efficiency indicators,” he stated firmly.

For FIB Unhas, this directive serves as an essential guide. This signing is not just a bureaucratic formality but a compass pointing the way. Moving forward, FIB is required to formulate appropriate strategies, proactively oversee students’ academic progress, and strengthen cross-unit synergy to optimally realize the IKU targets.
