FIB Unhas Evaluates First Quarter 2026 KPI Achievements, Highlights Publications and Governance Strengthening

FIB Unhas — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, held a Coordination and Monitoring Meeting for the First Quarter 2026 Key Performance Indicators (KPI/IKU) on Tuesday (7/4/2026) at the Senate Meeting Room of FIB Unhas. The meeting served as an evaluation forum as well as a strategic discussion to strengthen the faculty’s performance targets under the policies of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of FIB Unhas and attended by vice deans, department leaders, and administrative staff. In his remarks, the Dean emphasized that KPI achievements have become one of the primary benchmarks for higher education development, including within FIB Unhas.

One of the key issues discussed was international publication output among lecturers. The Dean highlighted challenges related to retired lecturers who are still formally registered as teaching staff and therefore remain included in publication performance calculations.

“Moving forward, we need to provide greater opportunities for younger lecturers who are active in research and scientific publication,” he stated during the meeting.

Vice Dean I also presented a report on academic and student affairs achievements during the first quarter. The discussion became more dynamic when the Secretary of the Japanese Literature Department reported that two students conducting community service activities (KKN) at Hiroshima University had not yet submitted formal reports to the department.

Responding to the issue, Vice Dean I and Vice Dean III suggested immediate administrative verification, including checking the students’ Study Plan Cards (KRS).

Meanwhile, Vice Dean II raised concerns regarding the faculty’s endowment fund collection and the need for fairer research funding distribution among departments. He proposed a cross-subsidy study to support departments requiring greater research funding.

The meeting also resulted in directives to improve the performance of departmental and study program websites to make them more informative and responsive to academic public needs.

Through this forum, FIB Unhas reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic governance, enhancing research productivity, and improving higher education services.
