FIB Unhas — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Hasanuddin (FIB Unhas) held a Handover of Positions ceremony for Vice Deans, and the Chair and Secretary of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Enhancement Unit (GPM-PR) in the FIB Unhas Senate Room on Friday (18/7/2025). The event took place from 13.00–15.00 WITA, attended by the outgoing and incoming officials, as well as all educational staff and lecturers of FIB Unhas.
This event was held shortly after the inauguration of 42 new officials by the Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., which took place earlier that morning, from 08.30–12.00 WITA at the Rectorate Building. In his speech, the Rector emphasized the importance of revitalizing the leadership structure in facing the dynamics and challenges of contemporary higher education. The inauguration was part of the university’s managerial strategy to strengthen the governance system and expand the institution’s competitiveness.
Of the 42 names inaugurated, three were new Vice Deans for the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. Dr. Ilham Dg. Makkelo, S.S., M.Hum., was officially appointed as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, replacing Prof. Dr. Mardi Adi Armin, S.S., M.Hum. In the area of Planning and Resources, the position was handed over from Dr. Dafira, S.S., M.Hum. to Dr. Rosmawati, S.S., M.Si. Meanwhile, the position of Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, Innovation, and Alumni is now held by Dr. Wahyuddin, S.S., M.Hum., replacing Dr. Kaharuddin, S.S., M.Hum.
In addition to the three Vice Dean positions, a change also occurred in the GPM-PR structure of FIB Unhas. The position of Chair of GPM-PR is now held by Dr. Karmila Mokoginta, S.S., M.Hum., M.Arts., replacing Dr. Wahyuddin who previously held the position. For the secretary position, Nurfitri, S.S., M.Hum., replaces Nasihin, S.S., M.A.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, S.S., M.Hum., expressed appreciation to the previous officials for their dedication and hard work in carrying out their institutional duties. He also hoped that the new officials can continue the achievements that have been pioneered and introduce fresh innovations that support FIB Unhas’s vision as a center of excellence for science and culture in eastern Indonesia.
“This leadership change is not merely an administrative rotation, but also part of the institution’s regeneration and continuity process. Our hope, of course, is that each field can move more dynamically, responsively, and collaboratively in answering academic and community needs,” said Prof. Akhmar.
The handover ceremony proceeded simply and meaningfully. The process was marked by the signing of the official handover documents and a symbolic transfer of work documents between the outgoing and incoming officials, witnessed by the academic community present.
With the newly formed structure, FIB Unhas affirms its commitment to continuously strengthen the quality of governance, enhance academic reputation, and expand cooperation and scholarly networks at the national and international levels.
