FIB Unhas – The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Hasanuddin, has taken a strategic step to monitor the academic progress of its students. Through the “Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of Student Study Completion” activity, the faculty seeks to map and accelerate student graduation rates at the beginning of the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
The activity, which took place in the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, FIB Unhas, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, was not just an administrative agenda. It became an important forum that brought together the Heads of Study Programs (Kaprodi) for S1, S2, and S3 levels with educational (administrative) staff.
The Dean of FIB Unhas, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, S.S., M.Hum., who opened the event, emphasized that M&E is a vital instrument. The goal is clear: to improve academic quality while “supporting the acceleration of student study completion.”
The core session was filled with a data presentation from the Unhas Directorate of Education. The Head of the Sub-directorate of Education Administration, Susy Asteria Irafany, S.T., M.Si., presented comprehensive data regarding student study durations within FIB. The presentation highlighted graduation trends and identified students at risk of delays.
This data sparked discussion. A dynamic data cross-check session ensued, where each study program synchronized its internal data with the university’s academic data. The Head of the S1 Archaeology Study Program, for example, used this moment to convey the latest data on his students’ study durations.
“This data synchronization is important so that the picture of student progress is more accurate,” said one participant. “With valid data, the study program’s intervention to help students facing obstacles can be better targeted.”
The event concluded with a shared commitment that structured M&E is key to quality improvement. Through this collaboration, FIB Unhas strives to ensure student study completion that is not only timely but also of high quality.
