FIB Unhas – The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) held a work meeting in Malino, Gowa Regency, on October 18–19, 2025. This activity carried the theme “Rooted in local wisdom, adaptive to change, and globally relevant.”
The work meeting was attended by faculty leadership, the head of the senate, professors, and representatives from various departments and study programs within FIB Unhas. The main agenda of the two-day meeting was to refine three important documents: the Strategic Plan (Renstra), the Work Program (Proker), and the faculty’s Roadmap, before they are officially ratified by the senate.
The Committee Chair, who is also the Vice Dean III of FIB, Dr. Wahyuddin, S.S., M. Hum., said the work meeting was deliberately held in Malino so participants could be more focused and the atmosphere more relaxed than the campus routine. “We hope today’s activities proceed optimally. Discussions are held by commission to ensure the results are more focused and comprehensive,” he said. According to him, the cool atmosphere of Malino also helped ease the tension from the dense academic activities on campus. “We came to Malino to be more relaxed, yet remain productive,” he added.
The Head of the FIB Unhas Senate, Prof. Muh. Darwis, encouraged all participants to actively provide input for the refinement of the faculty’s strategic documents. “We are all gathered here to unite our spirits and ensure the success of the work program. Achieving success means Unhas is united, Unhas is strong,” he affirmed.
The Dean of FIB Unhas, Prof. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, called the work meeting an important moment to affirm the faculty’s development direction under new leadership. “Everything we discuss today will have a major impact on the Faculty of Cultural Sciences’ journey. The draft documents prepared are the result of the formulators’ work and are a continuation of the previous leadership’s program. There is a continuity we wish to maintain,” he explained.
Following the work meeting, a senate meeting will be held to officially ratify the Strategic Plan document. This activity also serves as a space for reflection and formulation of strategic steps to ensure FIB Unhas remains rooted in local wisdom, adaptive to the changing times, and relevant in a global context.
