The meeting served as a strategic forum to evaluate academic achievements and strengthen the institution’s future development direction.

The visit involved members of the Academic Senate from Commissions I, II, and III, faculty leaders, vice deans, and academic administrators of FIB Unhas. In his opening remarks, the Dean of FIB Unhas expressed appreciation for the visit and hoped the meeting would generate constructive recommendations for the faculty’s advancement.

Prof. Budimawan explained that this visit was the Academic Senate’s first official agenda in 2026. He emphasized the Senate’s strategic role in formulating regulations, providing policy recommendations, and supervising academic implementation at the university level.

During the presentation session, the Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, Innovation, and Alumni outlined several achievements and challenges faced by FIB Unhas throughout 2025. Key concerns included the number of Scopus-indexed international publications, the proportion of doctoral-qualified lecturers, and students’ TOEFL scores.

Despite these challenges, the faculty reported several positive developments, including the establishment of the Publication Management Unit (PMU), progress in the Integrity Zone program, and the implementation of a Double Degree program. In terms of infrastructure, FIB Unhas also highlighted classroom renovations, internet access improvements, and plans to launch a Cultural Stage facility.

“Future research should not stop at publication output alone, but also contribute to institutional policy and collaborative development,” the Dean stated during the discussion session.

Members of the Academic Senate also emphasized the importance of strengthening postgraduate programs, improving lecturers’ research performance, and enhancing the profiles of departments and study programs. In addition, participants highlighted culture as a universal instrument capable of bridging technology and social development within society.

Through this forum, FIB Unhas reaffirmed its commitment to improving academic quality, institutional governance, and culture-based scholarly contributions at both national and international levels.
