FIB Unhas – A solemn atmosphere enveloped the Senate Room of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Universitas Hasanuddin on Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025. The moment served as a silent witness to the leadership regeneration in four literature departments: Indonesian Literature, English Literature, Regional Literature, and French Literature, through the Handover of Positions (Sertijab) ceremony for the new Heads of Department.
The event, which took place from 09.00 to 11.00 WITA, marked the leadership relay from the outgoing officials to their successors.
The leadership baton for the Indonesian Literature Department passed from Prof. Dr. Munira Hasjim, M.Hum. to Dr. Muslimat, M.Hum. In the English Literature Department, Prof. dra. Nasmilah, M.Hum., Ph.D. handed over her mandate to Dr. Sitti Sahraeny, M.Hum. Meanwhile, the Regional Literature Department is now led by Prof. Dr. Muhlis Hadrawi, M.Hum., replacing Prof. Dr. Gusnawaty, M.Hum., and the leadership of the French Literature Department transitioned from Dr. Prasuri Kuswarini, M.A. to Dr. Andi Faisal, M.A.
In his remarks, the Dean of FIB Unhas expressed deep appreciation for the dedication of the outgoing officials. To the new department heads, he emphasized that the position is an additional duty, while the primary duty of a lecturer is to teach and mentor.
“This position is a mandate. However, do not forget our essence as educators. Every morning since 07.30, I always monitor lectures, ensuring the teaching and learning process runs smoothly because this is a direct message from the Rector,” said the Dean.
Furthermore, he underlined several strategic agendas, including accelerating accreditation for the Regional Literature and French Literature Departments, and synchronizing work programs with the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) and the Annual Work Plan and Budget (RKAT).
The new department heads were also invited to prepare for the upcoming Work Meeting in mid-October to finalize the Strategic Plan (Renstra) and research roadmap.
One of the new officials met after the event expressed his optimism. “This isn’t just a change of positions, but a relay to continue a foundation that is already strong. God willing, we will work collectively to create innovations relevant to the challenges of the times,” he said lightly.
The agenda concluded with high hopes that the new leadership will bring a fresh breeze for the progress of the FIB Unhas academic community.
